Islamic Affairs Ministry Honours Winners Of Women's Quran Competition In Ethiopia
In a significant cultural and religious event, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, in partnership with the Women’s Daleel Center for Quran Education in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, celebrated the achievements of participants in the first edition of the Women's Quran Competition. This prestigious event not only showcased the dedication and skill of its contestants but also marked the beginning of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' programs for distributing dates and providing Iftar meals to fasting individuals during the holy month of Ramadan.
The competition witnessed an impressive turnout, with 300 female participants across Ethiopia vying for top honors in a contest that tested their Quranic knowledge and memorization skills. The competition was structured across five levels, catering to varying degrees of proficiency in Quran memorization, ranging from 5 to 30 parts (Juz’).

Winners emerged from each level, with three students per level being recognized for their exceptional performance. These talented individuals were awarded prizes totaling more than SAR 25,000, highlighting the significant investment in promoting Quranic education and memorization among women in Ethiopia.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to nurture a deeper connection with the Holy Quran worldwide. By supporting its memorizers and spreading its teachings, the ministry aims to foster a global community that finds guidance and solace in the sacred text.
The collaboration between the Religious Attaché at the Kingdom's Embassy in Ethiopia and the Women’s Daleel Center for Quran Education underscores a commitment to empowering women through religious education. This event not only celebrates their achievements but also encourages further participation in such enriching programs.
