Ministry Of Human Resources Advances Empowerment And Inclusion For Persons With Disabilities
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities. It offers a variety of services, programs, and initiatives to enhance their abilities and ensure their active participation in society. These efforts aim to provide opportunities that cater to the diverse needs of people with disabilities.
To support families unable to care for children with severe disabilities during the day, the ministry has established 494 non-governmental daycare centres across Saudi Arabia. These centres serve as an alternative to institutional care, offering services during specific hours.

The "Mowaamah" program was launched by the ministry to encourage inclusive workplaces. This initiative incentivises companies to employ individuals with disabilities, contributing to a 13.4% participation rate in the labour market by 2024.
Financial assistance is provided monthly by the ministry, along with medical devices and special identification cards. These cards facilitate discounted public transportation, traffic assistance, and autism spectrum disorder recognition.
Many services have been automated and are accessible through the ministry's official website, simplifying processes for beneficiaries. A home social care program is also being developed to deliver services directly to those with severe disabilities, focusing on enhancing their independence.
In economic terms, over 30 individuals have been supported in starting their own businesses through individual project grant support. The ministry collaborates with the National Entrepreneurship Institute (Riyadah) for training purposes.
The ministry's comprehensive approach highlights its commitment to empowering persons with disabilities and promoting their inclusion in all life aspects. These ongoing efforts demonstrate a dedication to removing barriers and fostering an inclusive society.
