Ministry Of Higher Education Expands Automatic Recognition Initiative For University Certificates In UAE
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has broadened its initiative for automatic recognition of university certificates for scholarship students. Initially, this service was exclusive to Ministry-sponsored students. Now, it includes various scholarship entities to expedite the academic recognition process for university degrees. The initial phase was successful in improving graduate experiences and simplifying their procedures.
Dr. Mohammad Al Mualla, Undersecretary of the Ministry, stated that expanding the automatic recognition initiative shows the Ministry’s dedication to providing excellent government services aligned with UAE leadership’s vision. He noted that this initiative aims to offer integrated educational solutions, easing certificate recognition and supporting students' entry into the workforce.

The expansion now involves key entities such as the Ministry of Sports, Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), Dubai Ruler’s Court, and Dubai Health Authority. This move enhances the Ministry's digital transformation efforts and commitment to efficient government services, aligning with UAE's developmental goals while meeting labour market demands.
The initiative aims to reduce time and effort in recognising certificates from foreign universities. Students can now obtain recognised certificates from relevant authorities without extra requests. This step improves their educational experience and eases their transition into employment.
Dr. Al Mualla also mentioned plans to include more educational and scholarship entities in the future. This expansion will enhance student satisfaction and strengthen UAE’s status as a global education hub. Collaborating with national entities ensures scholarship students have access to recognised certifications, supporting the national vision of a knowledge-based economy.
The Ministry is developing advanced digital services in line with delivering world-class government services. This aligns with customer expectations and boosts UAE's global educational competitiveness. The strategy supports digital transformation, streamlining processes, and aligns with the Zero Government Bureaucracy programme aimed at improving service quality by ministries and federal entities.
This proactive service expansion reflects MoHESR's commitment to agile government services that meet evolving labour market needs while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
