Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Hosts UAE’s 54th Eid Al Etihad Celebration Emphasising Unity And Cultural Pride
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently hosted its 54th Eid Al Etihad celebration, themed "United," at its Abu Dhabi headquarters. The event highlighted a strong sense of patriotism and unity among Emiratis and residents, showcasing their commitment to the UAE's leadership and progress. This gathering underscored the collective dedication to enhancing the nation's global stature and fostering its development.
In her opening remarks, Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi emphasised that Eid Al Etihad marks a significant milestone in UAE history. She praised the late Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and other rulers for their unwavering dedication to the country's advancement. Their efforts remain a testament to determination and shared vision.
Al Kaabi highlighted how the UAE's unique societal values have positioned it as a hub for talent and innovation. This aligns with H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's vision of welcoming all who contribute to the nation's growth. The UAE appreciates the efforts of its residents in driving development forward.
The celebration saw participation from key officials, including Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Khalifa bin Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State. Other notable attendees included Sheikh Nahyan bin Saif Al Nahyan, Deputy Minister of State, along with ambassadors and foreign mission heads accredited to the UAE.
The event featured various cultural activities that engaged attendees widely. Highlights included an exhibition by MoFA diplomat-artists exploring national identity themes through art. Traditional Emirati performances like Al Harbiya and Al Ayala were also showcased, reflecting rich cultural heritage.
Students from Al Dhabyaniya School performed ‘Naftakher Beek Ya Watan’ (‘We Are Proud of You, Our Nation’), adding to the vibrant atmosphere. Additionally, stations dedicated to traditional crafts, heritage displays, local foods, and family-friendly activities enriched the experience for all present.
Commitment to Global Efforts
Al Kaabi reiterated that the UAE is committed to supporting international initiatives aimed at enhancing security and stability through dialogue and diplomacy. She stressed that building bridges of understanding is crucial for empowering people globally to achieve development goals.
The event was attended by MoFA employees and their families alongside dignitaries such as Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi; Omran Anwar Sharaf; Salem bin Ghafan Al Jaberi; Dr. Maha Barakat; Abdullah Al Blooshi; Faisal Eissa Lutfi; Saif Abdullah Al Shamsi.
This celebration not only honoured past achievements but also looked towards future aspirations underlined by unity and cooperation within Emirati society. Such events reinforce national pride while fostering cultural exchange among diverse communities residing in the UAE.
