Ministry Of Family Launches Comprehensive Strategy To Empower Families Across The Emirates For Sustainable Development

The Ministry of Family has unveiled its strategy for 2025-2027, aiming to reinforce the Emirati family's role in sustainable development. This initiative seeks to enhance family stability and well-being, positioning families as central to national progress. Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family, emphasised that this strategy reflects the leadership's vision of investing in people as the nation's most valuable asset.

During a recent press conference, the Minister highlighted that the strategy marks a significant advancement in social development. It underscores the family's essential role in fostering a cohesive society and driving comprehensive national growth. The new approach places families at the core of social government initiatives through integrated policies and innovative programmes.

Empowering Families: UAE's New Strategic Plan

The Ministry's strategy aims to strengthen family cohesion and support work-life balance. This will nurture generations capable of achieving national goals. The plan recognises that families play a crucial role beyond care and upbringing. They prepare individuals to engage with national issues and contribute to aspirations amidst technological and social changes.

Central to the strategy is creating an environment conducive to family formation. Initiatives will alleviate financial burdens on young people, encourage marriage, and promote awareness of Emirati values. The focus extends to improving health services, early education, and flexible work options for better work-life balance.

The strategy prioritises vulnerable groups like senior citizens, People of Determination, and at-risk children. Advanced policies aim to integrate these groups within a supportive environment. The Ministry is committed to developing high-quality services through standardised mechanisms that consider family diversity across the UAE.

Innovative initiatives are also planned, including a comprehensive family data system for informed policy-making. A 'Family and Community Behavioural Insights' unit will be established for behavioural diagnostics and targeted interventions. Expanding family mediation services will further strengthen community ties.

National Initiatives

The Ministry plans nationwide awareness campaigns focusing on mental health, positive parenting, work-life balance, empowering vulnerable groups, disabilities, and addiction awareness. These campaigns aim to enhance public understanding of the family's crucial role in society.

A new community visual identity was launched during the media conference. This identity embodies the Ministry's vision of fostering flourishing Emirati families rooted in enduring values. It signifies a commitment to delivering comprehensive policies meeting current needs while anticipating future requirements.

Aligning with National Vision

The 2025-2027 strategy aligns with the UAE's national vision prioritising human well-being as development's foundation. It aims to establish a sustainable social system originating within families that positively impacts various sectors like economy, education, and health.

This pioneering national model for family policies is reality-based yet future-oriented. It reinforces values of cohesion, partnership, and solidarity by uniting community efforts under one umbrella serving all facets of family life.
