Ministry Of Energy And Infrastructure Unveils Digital Projects To Enhance Sustainability At GITEX Global 2025

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has unveiled several digital projects and technology initiatives at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai. These initiatives, showcased within the UAE Government Pavilion, aim to drive comprehensive digital transformation across energy, infrastructure, transport, housing, and services sectors. This move aligns with the national strategy to enhance integration and efficiency in these areas.

Sharif Al Olama, Under-Secretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry, stated that these projects signify a significant advancement in the Ministry’s digital transformation journey. He emphasised that they embody the UAE’s vision of future design and positive change through innovation and advanced technologies. "The Ministry continues to develop innovative solutions that align with the global shift toward a digital economy and support the UAE’s directions and sustainable development goals," he said.

Digital Projects Launched at GITEX Global 2025

The Ministry launched the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance (GEEA) platform, a key international initiative aimed at fostering collaboration among governments, institutions, and companies in energy efficiency and sustainability. This platform uses intelligent analytics to pinpoint impactful projects that help reduce emissions and improve resource efficiency. It strengthens the UAE’s role as a leader in transitioning to a low-carbon economy.

Additionally, the National Green Certificates Programme (NGCP) platform was introduced. This national system evaluates and certifies sustainable buildings using artificial intelligence to assess energy and water efficiency along with urban design quality. The programme accelerates green technology adoption and establishes performance standards that boost the UAE’s competitiveness in sustainable development, supporting its climate neutrality goal by 2050.

The Ministry also announced the Hybrid Customer Happiness Center model, which merges in-person attendance with virtual platforms via video communication technologies. This model is flexible and inclusive, reducing transportation emissions while applying five- and seven-star Customer Happiness Centre excellence standards. It enhances both service quality and sustainability.

Furthermore, during GITEX Global 2025, the Integrated Digital Government Services Centre in Fujairah was highlighted as a pioneering model for delivering government services digitally. Powered by artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and the metaverse, this centre offers over 150 digital services to more than 20,000 users annually. It represents a shift towards a paperless government without queues.

Commitment to Digital Transformation

The Ministry's participation in GITEX Global 2025 underscores its commitment to leading in artificial intelligence, digital twin technologies, and big data analytics. These efforts aim to develop efficient government work systems that deliver sustainable services while supporting the nation’s transition towards a knowledge-based economy.

Al Olama added that these projects are part of a broader institutional transformation framework adopted by the Ministry. They position it as a leading model in digital government applications while promoting energy sustainability and resource efficiency. "We are working within an integrated approach that harnesses technology and innovation in service of sustainable development," he noted.

This comprehensive approach reinforces the UAE’s position as a global hub for government innovation. By leveraging technology effectively, the nation aims to enhance its global competitiveness across energy, infrastructure, and smart services sectors.
