Ministry Of Energy And Infrastructure Hosts 12th Harbor Masters Meeting To Enhance Maritime Efficiency

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) recently held the 12th Harbor Masters meeting. This event focused on improving port efficiency and maritime processes while addressing sector challenges. It also highlighted the latest technologies in maritime management and reviewed laws to enhance port operations, ensuring safety and environmental sustainability.

Hosted by Abu Dhabi Ports Group, the meeting was led by Hessa Al Malek, Advisor to the Minister for Maritime Transport Affairs at MoEI. Representatives from UAE ports and maritime stakeholders attended the event. Al Malek stated, "The 12th Harbor Masters Meeting offered a valuable opportunity to share experiences and develop sustainable solutions that keep pace with fast-paced changes in the UAE maritime sector and global trends."

Al Malek emphasised the importance of collaboration in advancing the maritime sector. She noted that adopting innovative technologies enhances service quality and environmental preservation. "We follow a collaborative approach to enhance the sector through adopting cutting-edge technologies and innovations that improve the quality of maritime services and help preserve the environment," she said.

The UAE's commitment to maritime excellence has been recognised globally, with the country ranked 9th in seaports efficiency. Al Malek added, "Such meetings represent a major step towards fostering partnerships among maritime stakeholders, which contributes to higher efficiency and development in the ports sector."

Captain Saif Al Mheiri, Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Maritime and Acting Chief Sustainability Officer at AD Ports Group, highlighted the networking benefits of the meeting. He remarked, "This meeting, held under the patronage of MoEI, is an excellent opportunity for networking." The gathering demonstrated stakeholders' dedication to advancing maritime safety and efficiency.

The event underscored a shared commitment among participants to develop the maritime sector further. Captain Al Mheiri noted that such gatherings are crucial for ensuring safe and efficient port operations.
