UAE Ministry Of Education Partners With Space42 To Inspire Students Through SpaceTech Campaign

Space42, the UAE's pioneering AI-driven SpaceTech firm, has partnered with the UAE Ministry of Education to launch an educational campaign. This initiative aims to inspire young minds in science and engineering as they prepare for the Thuraya 4 satellite launch. Students from Ministry-run schools will visit Yahsat Space Services' facilities, offering them a unique learning experience.

The campaign is part of Thuraya 4's pre-launch 'One World. Deeply Connected' initiative. It aims to engage students with hands-on STEM activities that align with the UAE's educational curriculum. The program seeks to foster interest in science and technology among students by providing real-world exposure.

UAE Launches SpaceTech Educational Initiative for Students

Ali Al Hashemi, CEO of Yahsat Space Services, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with the Ministry of Education. He stated, "As we approach the launch of our next-generation satellite, Thuraya 4, we are pleased to collaborate with the UAE Ministry of Education as part of our ongoing efforts to nurture young scientists and support the UAE’s National Space Strategy 2030." This partnership reflects Space42's commitment to inspiring curiosity and offering practical learning experiences.

During school tours at Yahsat Space Services' facilities, students will explore satellite operations and interact with engineers. These visits include workshops, presentations, and Q&A sessions available virtually. Such activities aim to deepen students' understanding of satellite technology and its complexities.

Sulaiman Al Kaabi, Executive Director of the Students' Wellbeing Sector, highlighted the Ministry's dedication to engaging students in fields aligned with national goals. He praised Space42 for involving public school students in its projects, emphasizing their role in future space endeavors. The collaboration aims to enhance students' knowledge of advanced sciences through exposure to Space42's initiatives.

The campaign offers schools a rare chance to witness STEM applications firsthand. It aims to inspire students by showcasing potential careers in aerospace and technology. By connecting them with national achievements in space exploration, it enhances their global perspective on these fields.

Hands-On Experience

Yahsat Space Services will host students from grades 7 to 9 over six weeks in October and November 2024. Each week, one school will visit their Abu Dhabi control centre and Sharjah offices. These visits provide a glimpse into real-world applications of STEM education.

This initiative not only motivates students but also aligns with the UAE’s vision for space sciences and related technologies. It empowers them to lead vital sectors by deepening their understanding through direct engagement with industry experts.

The educational campaign underscores Space42’s role in shaping future space exploration while cementing the UAE’s achievements in this field. By facilitating student visits, it ensures that young learners are well-prepared for future challenges in science and technology.
