Ministry Of Economy And Tourism Participates In Women's Economic Dialogue To Empower Emirati Women In China

The Ministry of Economy and Tourism participated in the 'Women's Economy Dialogue' held in Guangzhou, China. This event was part of the UAE's Emirati Women's Day 2025 celebrations, themed 'Hand in Hand, We Celebrate 50 Years.' The dialogue aimed to enhance the global presence of Emirati women and foster international partnerships with successful women leaders in the economic sector from both the UAE and China.

The UAE delegation was led by Badreya Al Maidoor, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism. It included Mariam Alshamsi, Consul General of the UAE in Guangzhou; Emirati entrepreneur Maryam Al Mansoori, General Manager of Rebound; and representatives from Sky River and Esaal. The event was organised by the Consulate General of the UAE in Guangzhou.

UAE Ministry Engages in Women's Economic Dialogue

Al Maidoor highlighted that empowering women is a strategic priority for the UAE. She stated that since its founding, the UAE has positioned women as active partners in development through supportive policies and initiatives across public and private sectors. This approach has made women's participation a key driver of national competitiveness on regional and global scales.

She said, "We take pride in the remarkable achievements of Emirati women across all sectors. Through this dialogue, we aim to expand cooperation with women entrepreneurs in China by fostering economic partnerships built on diversity and innovation, while sharing success stories that inspire the next generation of women leaders in both countries."

The event featured panel discussions focusing on women's roles in vital sectors such as sustainable finance, investment, fintech, green building, and localising foreign companies in the UAE. Women leaders from both nations shared their professional experiences and discussed opportunities that empowered them.

This initiative aligns with the UAE's vision to support women's empowerment and reinforce their role in shaping future economic landscapes. The dialogue also marks a significant milestone towards achieving objectives set out in the "We the UAE 2031" vision alongside other national goals.

The efforts at this event reflect a broader commitment to strengthening Emirati women's pioneering role in sustainable development. By highlighting their achievements and fostering international collaborations, these initiatives aim to inspire future generations of women leaders globally.
