Ministry Of Defense Health Services Announces Comprehensive Medical Readiness Plan For Hajj Pilgrims

The General Directorate for Health Services under the Ministry of Defense is set to execute a comprehensive medical plan during Hajj. This initiative aims to support the Ministry of Health in delivering healthcare and treatment services to pilgrims. The plan involves operating 36 health centres at holy sites, providing over 1,000 beds, ensuring pilgrims' health and safety.

In Mina, the Armed Forces Hospital offers 50 beds and 20 specialised clinics with expansion capabilities. An integrated field hospital also provides 50 beds, an operating room, recovery room, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and separate wards for men and women. Two emergency centres are operational; one has 11 beds with an isolation room and cardiac resuscitation facilities.

Comprehensive Medical Readiness for Hajj Pilgrims

Arafat hosts two mobile field hospitals, each with a capacity of 100 beds. Additionally, a specialised centre for sunstroke and heat exhaustion also accommodates 100 patients. An emergency centre near Jabal al-Rahmah offers four beds, while an administrative clinic in al-Maghmas has a capacity of 25 beds.

Muzdalifah features a field hospital with 50 beds to support medical response operations. The Emergency Center for Health Services in Duqm al-Waber is notably equipped with 220 beds and includes a decontamination station for chemical, biological, and radiological emergencies.

In Madinah, the Ministry's health services have prepared the seasonal medical centre linked to Prince Sultan Armed Forces Hospital. Located near the Prophet's Mosque's northwestern courtyard, it operates with 250 staff members daily for 12 hours. This centre includes 26 medical tents with a total of 16 operational beds.

The Ministry's mission comprises qualified doctors, health professionals, administrators, and technicians to ensure comprehensive care for pilgrims. Their efforts focus on immediate emergency response and maintaining high standards of healthcare throughout the pilgrimage period.

Medical clinics are also established within ministry camps in Mina and Arafat. These facilities are part of the integrated mission involving 1,791 health and administrative personnel across fixed and field hospitals as well as emergency centres.
