Ministry Of Defence Organises 2nd Annual Communications And Information Technology Conference In Abu Dhabi

The Ministry of Defence recently hosted the 2nd Annual Communications and Information Technology Conference in Abu Dhabi. This event is part of a strategic initiative to boost military capabilities and Defence readiness. Held at the ERTH Hotel, it highlighted the latest advancements in Defence communications and technology.

Staff Major General Ishaq Saleh Mohammed Al Baloushi, ACOS Joint Capabilities, attended the opening ceremony. He was joined by high-ranking officials from both government and private sectors. The conference attracted military leaders, experts, and specialists in communications and Defence technology.

Defence Ministry Hosts Key Technology Conference

Staff Brigadier General Ali Yousef bin Rougha Al Zaabi delivered a speech emphasising the conference's importance. He described it as crucial for developing future Defence capabilities. Al Zaabi noted that these efforts align with the UAE’s leadership vision and Centennial 2071 goals, aiming to enhance the nation's global standing in Defence innovation.

Al Zaabi stated, "We gather today to explore key issues, exchange expertise, and learn from best practices, in the presence of distinguished senior military officials, experts, and professionals from the fields of Defence communications and technology." His remarks underscored the commitment to adopting advanced technical solutions for future Defence communications.

The conference featured panel discussions on enhancing military effectiveness through communications technologies. Topics included artificial intelligence, digital transformation, space communications, cyber threats, data protection, quantum computing evolution, and future space systems like small satellites.

Speakers also explored advanced radio technologies' impact on military communication systems. They discussed innovative approaches such as network micro-segmentation. AI-driven decision-making in logistics and integrating AI with quantum technologies were also key topics.

Commitment to Technological Superiority

The sessions addressed achieving information superiority through big data integration. The importance of advancing research for unmanned Defence systems was highlighted. These discussions aimed at preparing for future communication needs in autonomous systems.

Concluding the event, Balushi praised it as a vital platform for exploring military technology's future. He highlighted the UAE’s dedication to equipping its Armed Forces with cutting-edge innovations in satellite communications and cybersecurity.

The conference ended with participation from strategic partners of the Ministry of Defence. These partners represent various national and international entities contributing to the UAE’s rapidly growing Defence sector.
