Ministry Of Culture Launches Fifth Edition Of National Cultural Awards To Celebrate Achievements

The Ministry of Culture has unveiled the fifth edition of the National Cultural Awards, continuing its dedication to acknowledging exceptional contributions within Saudi Arabia's cultural sector. Soon, nominations for these awards will be open to both the public and cultural community. Entries can be submitted through their online platform.

Following the submission phase, evaluations and judging will take place, leading to the announcement of winners at a final ceremony. This annual event celebrates creative excellence across various cultural fields, highlighting efforts that have shaped and enhanced the national cultural scene.

The 2025 edition introduces two new award categories: the Handicrafts Award and the Cultural Media Award. The Handicrafts Award aligns with the ministry's declaration of 2025 as the Year of Handicrafts. It focuses on significant contributions to traditional crafts, including production techniques and cultural knowledge.

This category also features an international award recognizing initiatives that enhance livelihoods and generate job opportunities. Meanwhile, the Cultural Media Award acknowledges notable work by individuals or organizations in advancing cultural discourse through various media formats like print, audio, and digital platforms.

The Cultural Media Award also considers contributions such as literary reviews, cultural reporting, and consistent engagement with cultural events. These new categories join a prestigious set of existing awards: five major prizes reviewed by specialized committees alongside 11 others across 16 cultural sub-sectors.

Together, these awards demonstrate the ministry’s commitment to nurturing creative talent and preserving cultural heritage. The National Cultural Awards reflect this commitment by supporting cultural production and honoring those who enrich Saudi Arabia’s artistic and creative legacy.
