Saudi Arabia's Ministry Unveils AI-Powered Smart Assistant And City Management Platform

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing unveiled new digital services at the third Global AI Summit (GAIN Summit) in Riyadh, held from September 10 to 12, 2024. These innovations include the Smart Assistant Service and the Smart City Management Platform (Madinaty), both leveraging generative artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies.

The Smart Assistant Service, available via the "Balady" Application and the ministry's website, aims to improve customer communication. This service offers a smart experience by providing instant answers to inquiries using generative artificial intelligence technologies. It delivers clear and direct responses about the ministry's services, regulations, and related requirements around the clock without human intervention.

AI Smart Assistant & City Platform Launched

At the summit, the ministry also introduced the Smart City Management Platform (Madinaty). This platform is designed as a centralized system for managing smart solutions related to environmental sanitation and cleanliness within cities. It covers all stages from waste sources and construction waste to organizing waste transport and disposal in designated landfills.

The platform operates using IoT (Internet of Things) technologies, enabling real-time monitoring of cleaning operations and tracking vehicles during transportation routes. This enhances operational efficiency for smart municipalities in cities.

These new digital services align with the ministry's ongoing efforts to boost digital transformation, promote smart municipality initiatives, and provide quality services to various sectors and individuals within Saudi Arabian cities.

"These advancements reflect our commitment to leveraging technology for better urban management," said a ministry spokesperson. "We aim to provide seamless services that meet the needs of our citizens efficiently."

The introduction of these services marks a significant step towards modernizing municipal operations through advanced technological solutions. The focus remains on improving service delivery while ensuring environmental sustainability within urban areas.

By integrating these innovative platforms, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing continues to support Saudi Arabia's vision for smarter cities. The emphasis is on creating more efficient, responsive, and sustainable urban environments for residents across the Kingdom.
