Ministry Of Islamic Affairs Hosts Conference To Foster Moderation
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has finalised preparations for the 9th Conference of Ministers of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. Scheduled from August 3 to 5, the event is themed: ‘The role of the Ministries of Islamic Affairs and Awqaf in promoting the principles of moderation and consolidating the values of moderation’.
Early preparations included organising a reception ceremony for the first delegation arriving tomorrow evening. Delegates from various Islamic countries will be welcomed at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. They will receive comprehensive services in Makkah, such as transportation, accommodation, and modern technology support.

The conference will feature sessions led by ministers and scholars, covering ten dialogue sessions. Topics include renewing religious discourse to promote moderation, countering extremism, fanaticism, and terrorism, and protecting platforms from hate speech. Discussions will also address common human values, tolerance, coexistence, and Islamophobia.
Additionally, the role of Awqaf in boosting GDP and the investment potential of Awqaf funds will be explored. The conference aims to highlight how these funds can contribute to economic growth within Islamic countries.
Participants will share experiences regarding technical and architectural specifications for mosque construction and maintenance. This includes discussions on appointing imams, preachers, and muezzins. The importance of knowledgeable fatwas and addressing atheism's dangers will also be key topics.
The Ministry has utilised multiple committees to ensure all aspects of the event are meticulously planned. This includes providing distinguished services to attendees in Makkah, ensuring a smooth experience for all participants in this global Islamic forum.
