Digital Transformation In Saudi Industry: A Leap Towards Vision 2030
The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has demonstrated its commitment to digital transformation by making its services electronically accessible to partners and beneficiaries. This initiative was highlighted during a dialogue session titled "Digital Transformation and Its Impact on the Industrial and Mining Sectors in the Kingdom," featuring Mohammad Al-Shuwaier, General Supervisor of the ministry’s Digital Transformation Agency. The event was organised by the Digital Government Authority under the "Saudi Arabia Digital Day" slogan at King Khalid University in Abha.
The session discussed how adopting fourth industrial revolution technologies can significantly benefit the Kingdom. These technologies aim to automate industrial facilities, transforming Saudi Arabia into a leading industrial power. By fostering innovation and leveraging advanced technologies, the Kingdom aims to build a competitive and sustainable industrial economy that relies on innovative manufacturing techniques.

One of the key goals is to enhance the value chains of mineral resources, which will boost the mining sector. This aligns with Vision 2030, positioning mining as the third pillar of Saudi industry. The ministry's efforts are geared towards increasing the Kingdom's GDP contribution and attracting high-quality investments in both industry and mining sectors.
The ministry is focused on serving investors in the industrial sector by facilitating their journey from project conception to product exportation through advanced digital services. This approach aims to make the industrial investment environment more competitive and attractive to both local and foreign investors.
By adopting these advanced technologies, Saudi Arabia aims to become a global hub for advanced industries. The initiative seeks to enhance competitiveness within the industrial sector, making it more appealing for investments.
"The technologies of the fourth industrial revolution will develop the value chains of mineral resources to enhance the mining sector and achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals," said Mohammad Al-Shuwaier during his presentation.
The ministry's digital transformation efforts are part of a broader strategy to modernise Saudi Arabia's industrial landscape. By integrating cutting-edge technologies, they aim to streamline processes and improve efficiency across various sectors.
This digital transformation is expected to bring significant gains for Saudi Arabia, including increased innovation and sustainability within its industries. The focus on advanced manufacturing technologies is designed to build a robust industrial economy that can compete on a global scale.
Overall, these initiatives reflect Saudi Arabia's ambition to lead in industrial innovation while achieving economic diversification as outlined in Vision 2030. The emphasis on digital transformation underscores the Kingdom's commitment to modernising its industries for future growth.
