Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee Holds Meeting In New York To Address Gaza Situation

The Ministerial Committee, formed by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit, convened a coordination meeting today to discuss developments in the Gaza Strip. His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, led the meeting. The gathering included several high-ranking officials from various countries and organisations.

Among those present were Dr. Mohammed Mustafa, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Palestine, and Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan. Also attending were Dr. Badr Abdelatty from Egypt, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani from Bahrain, Hakan Fidan from Türkiye, Retno Marsudi from Indonesia, Dr. Mohammed Al-Khulaifi from Qatar, Ahmed Aboul Gheit from the League of Arab States, and Hissein Brahim Taha from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Ministerial Committee Meets on Gaza Issues

The meeting was strategically scheduled before the high-level week of the 79th United Nations General Assembly session. The primary aim was to enhance Arab and Islamic efforts during the assembly to back initiatives for recognising Palestine as a state. They also discussed ensuring Palestinians' right to establish an independent state with occupied Jerusalem as its capital.

Key topics included halting Israeli aggression in Gaza and addressing the dangerous escalation in the West Bank. The committee also focused on ending humanitarian crises and ensuring aid reaches all affected areas. These discussions are crucial for promoting peace and stability in the region.
