Minister Of Municipalities Highlights Over 11,000 Development Projects With US Partnership For Smart Cities
Saudi Arabia is undergoing a significant urban transformation, as highlighted by Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail. This change is driven by Vision 2030, with the ministry overseeing more than 11,000 development projects across over 300 municipalities. These initiatives focus on housing, infrastructure, and enhancing quality of life through collaborations with American partners.
Minister Al-Hogail addressed the Saudi-US Investment Forum 2025, stressing the importance of reshaping Saudi cities into sustainable and appealing smart cities. This transformation is crucial to accommodate expected population growth in the coming decade. The minister pointed out that urban development involves not just physical infrastructure but also improving operational efficiency and service quality.

The minister noted a significant rise in homeownership rates since the launch of Vision 2030. Homeownership increased from 47% to over 60%, with plans to reach 70% by 2030. This progress is attributed to genuine partnerships with the private sector, empowering citizens to purchase their first homes.
Minister Al-Hogail extended an open invitation to American investors to explore opportunities in Saudi Arabia's real estate sector. He encouraged involvement in areas like development, facility management, smart city construction, and urban land reuse. The Kingdom seeks strategic partners who can help design sustainable solutions for future cities.
The ministry is actively redeveloping three major cities in collaboration with over 80 local private sector partners. There are plans to expand these partnerships internationally, particularly with American companies possessing global expertise. Minister Al-Hogail emphasized that the Kingdom values not only financial investment but also strategic contributions from partners.
Minister Al-Hogail highlighted that Saudi Arabia's urban transformation extends beyond mere infrastructure improvements. It aims to enhance operational efficiency and service quality across its cities. The focus is on creating environments that are both sustainable and attractive for future generations.
This comprehensive approach reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment to fostering global partnerships while ensuring its cities are equipped for future challenges. By inviting international expertise, particularly from American companies, the Kingdom aims to achieve its ambitious Vision 2030 goals effectively.
