Minister Of Media Salman Al-Dossary Recognises KFSHRC Team For Historic Robotic Heart Transplant Achievement

Saudi Arabia's Minister of Media, Salman Al-Dossary, recently honoured a medical team from King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC) in Riyadh. This team achieved a world-first by performing a fully robotic heart transplant. The recognition occurred during the fifth Media Excellence Award 2024, which celebrates creative media work across various fields and national occasions.

The Saudi medical team's achievement has been praised both locally and internationally. Their success highlights the Kingdom's leadership in advanced medical technologies. This accomplishment aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's Health Sector Transformation Program, which aims to enhance healthcare quality and reinforce the Kingdom’s position in medical innovation.

This honour reflects the significant contributions of the Saudi medical team led by Dr. Feras Khaliel, Chairman of Cardiac Surgery and Deputy Executive Director of the Heart Center of Excellence. Their pioneering work marks a significant milestone in global healthcare innovation, showcasing Saudi talent in cutting-edge healthcare technologies.

The recognition follows an audience with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This meeting reaffirmed the leadership’s pride in national achievements and its commitment to fostering excellence for a brighter future.
