Minister Of Industry Discusses Cooperation In Helicopter Manufacturing With Airbus Helicopters
Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef visited Airbus Helicopters' headquarters in Marignane, France. He examined their advanced aircraft manufacturing technologies and met with CEO Bruno Even. They discussed enhancing cooperation in aviation, focusing on helicopter manufacturing and maintenance. This visit was part of his official trip to the French Republic.
The meeting underscored Saudi Vision 2030's goals for economic diversification, highlighting private-sector empowerment and global industrial partnerships. The Kingdom's strategic assets were reviewed, showcasing its appeal for industrial investment. These include its geographic location connecting three continents, abundant natural resources, competitive energy prices, advanced infrastructure, and streamlined government procedures.

Saudi Arabia has identified over SAR10 billion in investment opportunities within key aviation sectors. These include maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturing, and precision automation. The Kingdom aims to become a global aviation hub through these initiatives.
During the meeting, Bruno Even presented an overview of Airbus Helicopters' advanced technologies. He highlighted their range of helicopter models and innovations in unmanned aerial vehicles. Plans for global expansion in manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance were also discussed.
The discussion included joint investment opportunities in helicopter manufacturing and maintenance. The Kingdom's enablers and incentives designed to attract high-quality investments in the aviation sector were also covered.
Attendees reaffirmed the National Industrial Strategy’s emphasis on developing the aviation industry as a priority sector. This aligns with Saudi Arabia's vision to strengthen its position as a leader in the global aviation market.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to explore further collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Airbus Helicopters. Both parties aim to leverage each other's strengths to advance the aviation industry.
