Minister Bandar Alkhorayef Explores Helicopter Manufacturing Opportunities With Airbus Helicopters

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef recently visited Airbus Helicopters' headquarters in Marignane, France. During his visit, he explored the company's advanced aircraft manufacturing technologies and held discussions with CEO Bruno Even. The talks focused on enhancing cooperation in aviation and exploring joint opportunities in helicopter manufacturing and maintenance.

The meeting underscored Saudi Vision 2030's goals, which aim for economic diversification and private-sector empowerment. It also emphasised building global industrial partnerships. The Kingdom's strategic assets were highlighted, such as its geographic position connecting three continents, abundant natural resources, competitive energy prices, advanced infrastructure, and streamlined government procedures.

Minister Discusses Helicopter Manufacturing with Airbus

Saudi Arabia has identified over SAR10 billion in investment opportunities within the aviation sector. These include maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturing, and precision automation. This initiative is part of the Kingdom's ambition to become a global aviation hub.

During the meeting, Bruno Even provided an overview of Airbus Helicopters' cutting-edge technologies. He discussed their range of advanced helicopter models and innovations in unmanned aerial vehicles. Additionally, he outlined the company's plans for global expansion in manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance.

The National Industrial Strategy prioritises developing the aviation industry as a key sector. Attendees at the meeting affirmed this focus. They also discussed joint investment opportunities in helicopter manufacturing and maintenance. The Kingdom offers various enablers and incentives to attract high-quality investments in this sector.

The discussions between Minister Alkhorayef and Airbus Helicopters aimed to strengthen ties between Saudi Arabia and France in aviation. By fostering collaboration, both parties seek to leverage each other's strengths for mutual benefit.
