Minister Of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal Discusses Regional Cooperation At Arab Troika Meeting With UN Security Council
During the high-level week of the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York City, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah took part in a meeting. This gathering involved the Arab League Troika, comprising Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Republic of Iraq, alongside the UN Security Council under Slovenia's chairmanship.
Prince Faisal highlighted the necessity for improved consultation between the Security Council and regional bodies. He expressed gratitude towards Slovenia for its historic decision to acknowledge the State of Palestine. The prince reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's full backing for mediation efforts led by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.

The prince condemned Israeli actions that obstruct these mediation efforts. He reiterated Saudi Arabia's support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and acknowledged its work in Gaza. Prince Faisal stressed enhancing cooperation between the Arab League, Security Council, and international partners to advance peace and security.
Attendees at this meeting included Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, Undersecretary for Multilateral International Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil, Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to UN Headquarters in New York; and Abdulrahman Al-Dawood, Director-General of the Foreign Minister's Office.
The prince emphasized that strengthening collaboration among these entities is crucial for achieving significant progress on issues affecting the Arab region. This collaboration aims to contribute positively to global peace and security efforts.
