Minister Of Family Visits Emirates Humanitarian City To Enhance Child Wellbeing And Family Bonding

The conclusion of Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week 2025 was marked by a visit from Sana bint Mohamed Suhail, Minister of Family and Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA), to Emirates Humanitarian City. This visit aimed to uplift children from Gaza and their families through engaging activities that foster family bonding and emotional wellbeing.

During the visit, both children and caregivers participated in various activities. Children engaged in creative workshops, sensory experiences, and outdoor play designed to enhance their cognitive, physical, and social skills. Meanwhile, parents attended sessions led by early childhood experts on positive parenting and communication.

Minister Visits Emirates Humanitarian City

Sana bint Mohamed Suhail highlighted the significance of Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week as a time to reaffirm the community's commitment to every child in the emirate. She stated, "The early years of a child’s life are the most important. Supporting families during this time is an investment in the future of our nation."

She further expressed the importance of being with these families at Emirates Humanitarian City, noting that their presence reflects the UAE's values of compassion and solidarity. "We believe every child deserves a strong start in life and a fair chance to grow, learn, and flourish to their full potential," she added.

The initiative also focused on enhancing mental wellbeing by promoting connection and learning through play. Caregiver skill-building was another key aspect. Educational materials will remain available for residents, ensuring ongoing benefits from this initiative.

The second edition of Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week 2025 ran from 17th to 23rd November under the theme "Together We Can Make Abu Dhabi a Family-Friendly Emirate." It was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Collaborative Efforts Across Entities

This year’s event saw participation from over 65 government, private, and community entities such as ADNOC (Energy Partner), PureHealth (Health Partner), and the National Academy for Childhood Development (Vision Partner). The week featured more than 300 activities across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra.

These activities combined play with learning and community engagement. They celebrated the importance of early childhood years while encouraging families to utilise everyday moments for supporting children's development and strengthening family bonds.

Sana bint Mohamed Suhail emphasised that these early years are crucial as they lay the foundation for a child's future. She noted that efforts continue with partners to create nurturing environments for all children in Abu Dhabi.
