Minister Bandar Alkhorayef Discusses Localizing Advanced Manufacturing Technologies With Global Leaders
Bandar Alkhorayef, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, recently engaged in discussions with top executives from major companies in industrial automation and advanced manufacturing. These meetings focused on investment opportunities within Saudi Arabia, particularly in localising smart manufacturing technologies and semiconductor production. The discussions also highlighted the Kingdom's initiatives to advance industrial transformation.
The meetings took place during the Industrial Transformation Saudi Arabia 2025 Exhibition. This event was organised by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources alongside Deutsche Messe and Riyadh Exhibitions Company Limited. It brought together global leaders in industrial transformation, as well as local and international technology firms, entrepreneurs, investors, experts, and innovators.

One of the key topics was the Future Factories Program. This initiative aims to convert over 4,000 factories into smart manufacturing facilities using automation and advanced technologies. The program is part of a broader effort to localise advanced manufacturing technologies and strengthen research and innovation within the Kingdom.
Alkhorayef's discussions included representatives from ABB, a leader in industrial automation solutions; Optical Standard, known for its semiconductor expertise; and Virtual Mind Holding (VMH) Company Limited, which specialises in artificial intelligence technologies. These companies are pivotal in advancing Saudi Arabia's industrial sector.
The meetings also addressed developing specialised training programs to boost national talent competitiveness. These programs aim to equip individuals with skills necessary for operating Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. Enhancing these skills is crucial for supporting Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
Additionally, the discussions highlighted various enablers and incentives available within the industrial ecosystem. These are designed to support smart industrial transformation and encourage the adoption of advanced technologies across national factories. Such measures aim to improve efficiency within the industrial sector.
