Mining Show 2025 Launches With Participation From Over 200 Global Exhibitors

The Mining Show 2025 commenced with over 200 global exhibitors, alongside policymakers and industry leaders. This two-day event is a hub for showcasing innovations and discussing the future of mining in the Middle East, North Africa, and globally. It highlights the importance of minerals in energy transitions and digital advancements.

The UAE has proactively addressed these shifts by enhancing critical mineral supply chains and attracting strategic investments. The country's industrial sector grew by 62% last year, contributing AED197 billion to the economy. This growth reflects increased demand for raw materials linked to clean technologies.

Mining Show 2025 Features Over 200 Exhibitors

Saif Ghubash, Assistant Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, emphasised that minerals are crucial for clean energy, electric mobility, AI-driven industries, and a resilient digital economy.

He cited an International Energy Agency report predicting a 30-fold increase in demand for minerals used in electric vehicles and energy storage by 2040. Lithium demand alone is expected to rise more than 40 times.

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has launched key initiatives like the National 3D Geological Model. This model offers detailed insights into subsurface layers using advanced digital technologies. Another initiative, the Energy and Infrastructure Data Bridge, improves data transparency and accelerates planning processes.

The Mining Show features keynote sessions, workshops, and panel discussions with experts and policymakers. Presentations highlight advanced mining solutions from international companies. National companies also play a significant role in reinforcing the UAE's leadership in this sector.

This year's sessions focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks. These frameworks support sustainable mining practices and aim to establish a circular economy that promotes economic growth while conserving natural resources.

Ghubash stressed that changes in mineral demand are structural transformations reshaping global supply chains. The competition over mineral security will intensify as these changes unfold. The UAE's early recognition of these shifts positions it at the forefront of global mining transformation efforts.

The Mining Show serves as an integrated platform for industry experts to explore future trends in mining technology. It attracts specialised international companies showcasing innovative solutions with a focus on national contributions to the UAE's leadership in this vital sector.

The event underscores the UAE's commitment to developing a sustainable mining sector through strategic initiatives and collaborations with international partners. By fostering innovation and investment, the country aims to maintain its competitive edge in the evolving global landscape of mineral resources.
