Dubai Police Set To Launch Middle East's First Floating Smart Police Station By End Of 2026

Dubai Police is set to introduce the Middle East's first floating Smart Police Station (SPS) by the end of 2026. This initiative, part of a series of strategic projects worth AED2 billion, was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. These projects aim to enhance security, invest in specialised police training, and improve employee wellbeing through housing initiatives that support family stability.

The floating SPS will offer advanced services at sea, catering to yacht and boat owners as well as water sports enthusiasts. Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Al Tamimi, Director of Assets and Facilities Department at Dubai Police, stated that the station will be operational by late 2026. It aligns with the "Dubai the World's Smartest and Happiest City" initiative by ensuring community satisfaction and easy access to police services.

Dubai Police to Launch Floating Smart Station

This floating station will provide 27 primary services such as filing criminal and traffic reports, alongside 33 additional services available in six languages. These include returning lost items and handling requests for certificates and permits. The station will operate 24/7 without human intervention, reducing visitor numbers at traditional service centres while utilising AI and robotics to streamline operations.

The design of the floating SPS considers the unique needs of boats and yachts, facilitating faster arrival, boarding, and disembarking processes. Lt Col Al Tamimi emphasised that this contemporary design will make accessing police services more convenient for maritime users.

Dubai Police's Smart Police Station project includes various editions like Drive-Thru and Walk-in stations. These aim to deliver top-notch, automated services on land or sea. The fourth edition of these smart stations focuses on enhancing security awareness among community members while contributing to making Dubai a smarter city.

The introduction of this floating SPS is expected to significantly reduce footfall at conventional service centres. By leveraging cutting-edge technology such as AI and robotics, Dubai Police aims to improve efficiency in their processes.

Overall, these smart police stations are designed to raise the quality of life in Dubai by providing seamless access to essential services. They play a crucial role in achieving the city's vision of becoming the world's smartest and happiest city.
