11th Middle East Joint Surgery Congress Wraps Up In Dubai With Global Experts

The Eleventh International Conference on Joint Surgery in the Middle East (ICJR) recently wrapped up in Dubai, marking a significant milestone as it was hosted in the Middle East for the first time. Over three days, the conference attracted 1,000 surgeons and medical professionals from various continents, focusing on a wide array of topics including the latest in shoulder prosthetic joints, knee and hip treatments, ligament and tendon injuries, and minimally invasive orthopedic surgeries.

Dr. Sameeh Tarabichi, the Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and Supreme President of the Conference, highlighted the United Arab Emirates' role as a frontrunner in integrating modern technologies such as robotics, navigation systems, and artificial intelligence into healthcare. This innovation enables personalized patient care by allowing for the precise selection and manufacturing of prosthetics. The conference served as a platform for renowned speakers and participants from around the globe to share insights on advanced surgical techniques and developments in orthopedics.

Dubai's Major Joint Surgery Congress Ends

Technological advancements in joint surgery were a central theme, with discussions on joint design innovations, the application of three-dimensional printing in surgery, and advancements in robotic surgeries. The event also provided valuable training through seminars and workshops, including practical sessions on joint replacement techniques.

Dr. Jaber Al-Khubaili, Vice President of the Conference, reflected on the success of this year's event, emphasizing the role of artificial intelligence and virtual reality in enhancing surgical precision and efficiency. These technologies are pivotal in reducing human error and improving patient outcomes. The conference featured contributions from 69 regional and international lecturers across 14 countries, delivering 120 lectures during 21 scientific sessions. Additionally, 35 scientific research presentations and five practical workshops were conducted, including unique sessions using human corpses for practical training.

This year's ICJR also introduced an innovative approach to orthopaedic education through video surgical presentations by experts. This initiative aims to revolutionize orthopaedic education and foster new learning methods that enhance patient health outcomes.
