Mental Health Is Vital For Building A Healthy Society, Emphasises Fatima Bint Mubarak At Forum

H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, known as the Mother of the Nation, highlighted the importance of mental health in building a society that balances modernity with tradition. She stressed that mental well-being is crucial for ensuring a prosperous present and a promising future for upcoming generations.

Sheikha Fatima expressed her hopes for the success of participants at the "Motherhood and Child Forum on Mental Health." This event aims to raise awareness, share expertise, and foster collaborations to address the mental health needs of mothers and children.

Fatima bint Mubarak on Mental Health's Importance

The forum, held under Sheikha Fatima's patronage, seeks to establish open dialogues on mental health issues related to motherhood and childhood in the UAE. It aims to create actionable solutions and form a national platform addressing these critical concerns.

Sheikha Fatima stated, "This event has been organised in full alignment with my deeply held belief that our children embody the nation's past, present and future, and therefore, all concerned parties, including our communities, have a moral, ethical and national duty to provide the necessary resources for their upbringing and education in a rounded, appreciative and sympathetic atmosphere."

Sheikha Fatima emphasised that society often lets anxiety and shame shape attitudes towards mental health. The forum focuses on de-stigmatising these issues affecting mothers and children by providing an open space for discussion.

"By providing a space for open discussions, we want to help break down barriers and enable an environment where individuals can seek help and support without fear of judgment or discrimination," she added.

Community Support

The forum also highlights challenges faced by mothers and children today. Participants will play a key role in raising awareness about early intervention, better access to mental health services, and fostering supportive communities.

Sheikha Fatima noted that through education, collaboration, and open dialogue, a more inclusive environment can be created. This supports Emirati values of achieving better quality of life for all citizens.

The Motherhood and Child Forum on Mental Health serves as an essential platform advocating for mental health rights. It reflects the UAE's aspirations to build a healthy society where everyone can enjoy happiness and well-being.
