Mental Health 360 Campaign In UAE: MoHAP And AbbVie Unite To Boost Integrated Care
The Ministry of Health and Prevention has launched the "Mental Health 360" campaign with AbbVie to highlight mental health as a national priority, strengthen quality of life, and support the UAE’s wider health vision. The initiative treats mental well-being as essential to sustainable development and community stability across the country.
The campaign promotes a whole-person model that links psychological state with physical health outcomes and daily functioning. It supports the UAE’s National Policy for the Promotion of Mental Health and aligns with the "Year of the family", emphasising prevention, early support and integrated services rather than isolated, condition-specific responses.

The initiative explains that mental health covers many disorders and challenges, not a single diagnosis. It calls for services that connect prevention, treatment and rehabilitation in one coherent framework. "Mental Health 360" campaign calls for the adoption of an integrated model that incorporates psychological support into every stage of the healthcare journey and every preventive initiative. This, Al Rand said, ensures a comprehensive and sustainable health response, aligned with the Year of the family’s objectives, and reinforces the principle that raising awareness and providing a supportive environment is a shared responsibility between institutions and society.
Dr. Hussain Al Rand stated that mental health is a core element of national health policy, based on the view that the body and mind operate as one connected system. The campaign therefore seeks stronger public understanding, evidence-based planning and coordinated work with private partners to build a durable, responsive mental healthcare structure.
The "Mental Health 360" initiative was presented at the Ministry’s headquarters in Dubai, in an event attended by Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, specialists and other healthcare professionals. The programme is designed to integrate psychological support at primary care, specialist clinics and prevention initiatives, so that individuals meet mental health services at every contact point in the healthcare journey.
Dr. Buthaina Bin Belaila, Head of the Non-Communicable Disease and Mental Health Department at the Ministry, said that many countries are moving towards comprehensive models of mental health care for people with chronic conditions. This approach, reflected in the campaign, aims to increase awareness and create stronger, more positive communication channels between patients and medical teams.
Hussein Abdullatif, General Manager, AbbVie Gulf & Levant, said, "Today, with the launch of the Mental Health 360 campaign, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening mental health as a national priority. Working alongside MoHAP, healthcare professionals and community partners, we aspire to build a more inclusive and sustainable future in which mental health is a foundation for a society capable of surmounting challenges.
Furthermore, Mohammad Aboubakr, Regional Vice President Middle East, Africa & Russia CIS at AbbVie, added, "Raising mental health standards is a shared responsibility that requires everyone’s cooperation. Our partnership with the Ministry of Health and Prevention and other stakeholders enables us to confront challenges, break stigma and reach those who need support most. Investing in mental health is, above all, an investment in people, and through our collaboration, we seek to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable transformation in the health and well-being of our communities.
