MENA Biofuels Strengthens Sustainable Aviation Fuel Value Chain With Evertree Partnership At ADIPEC 2025
MENA Biofuels, part of the Mercantile & Maritime Group, has announced a significant partnership with Evertree at ADIPEC 2025. This collaboration aims to develop the UAE's first Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) facility in Fujairah. The initiative aligns with the UAE's SAF Roadmap 2030 and Net Zero 2050 vision, marking a step forward in sustainable energy development.
Under a new agreement with Evertree, MENA Biofuels will secure a steady supply of used cooking oil and waste-based materials. These will be converted into low-carbon aviation fuel. This arrangement is crucial for ensuring long-term feedstock availability for large-scale SAF production, supporting a circular economy.

Mohamed Saeed Al Raqbani, Chairman of MENA Biofuels, stated: "This partnership strengthens the foundation of our value chain — from sustainable feedstock sourcing to certified SAF delivery." He emphasised their dedication to creating a transparent SAF ecosystem that aligns with the UAE’s clean energy goals.
Gati Al Jebouri, CEO of MENA Biofuels, highlighted the importance of this collaboration. He said it represents progress in localising SAF production and ensuring the UAE's renewable fuel sector remains reliable and competitive globally.
Anita Lao, Co-Founder of Evertree, expressed her enthusiasm about the partnership: "Our mission has always been to turn waste into value. This collaboration with MENA Biofuels ensures that used cooking oil and other waste-based materials are transformed into certified Sustainable Aviation Fuel." She noted that this effort supports both the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 ambition and global energy responsibility.
This agreement is another milestone for MENA Biofuels as they work towards establishing the UAE’s first SAF facility. It positions Fujairah as a key regional hub for sustainable aviation fuels and low-carbon innovation.
The partnership not only advances local SAF production but also reinforces the UAE’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. By focusing on waste conversion and renewable fuel development, these efforts contribute significantly to environmental goals and economic growth in the region.
