Saudi Red Crescent Deploys Over 200 Medical Dispatch Personnel For Hajj Season Emergency Response

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority is gearing up for the 1446 AH Hajj season by enhancing its Medical Dispatch Center. Over 200 skilled personnel, including doctors and specialists, are on standby to manage emergency calls through the 997 hotline and various apps. These efforts aim to provide immediate medical guidance to those in need.

To ensure swift assistance, coordinators work closely with organisations like Civil Defense and Public Security. They help ambulance teams reach patients quickly and streamline procedures for transferring cases to nearby medical facilities. This collaboration saves time and effort in delivering urgent care.

Medical Personnel Ready for Hajj Season 2023

This year, the authority has upgraded its technical capabilities by incorporating artificial intelligence into the Medical Dispatch Center. This technology offers real-time translation for non-Arabic-speaking pilgrims, enhancing information accuracy and improving emergency response efficiency.

The reporting process involves gathering caller details, confirming incident locations using advanced tools, classifying medical cases, and assessing the number of injured individuals. This data enables a suitable response through smart systems and pre-arrival medical instructions.

Reports are transferred to the Command and Control Center to dispatch the nearest ambulance team promptly. The entire process is tracked until field teams arrive, ensuring professional delivery of emergency care. This seamless coordination highlights the authority's dedication to mobilising resources effectively.

The integration between the Medical Dispatch Center, Command and Control Center, air operations, and other sectors underscores a commitment to preparedness. By leveraging both human and technical resources, the authority aims to offer top-notch emergency services during Hajj.

This comprehensive approach reflects a strong focus on providing efficient care for pilgrims throughout their journey. The use of advanced technologies ensures that even language barriers do not hinder effective communication in emergencies.
