Sharjah Ruler Establishes New Media Office For Family And Community Council Initiatives
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has enacted an Emiri Decree to establish the Media Office of the Sharjah Family and Community Council. This office will have legal status and full capacity to undertake necessary legal actions to achieve its goals. It will operate under the supervision of the Sharjah Family and Community Council.
The decree specifies that the office will be known in English as the "Media Office of Sharjah Family and Community Council." Its main office will be located in Sharjah city. However, at the discretion of H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, additional branches may be established in other parts of the emirate.

H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi will lead the office. She has the authority to appoint suitable individuals to assist in managing the office and overseeing its related entities. The decree outlines several objectives for the office, including enhancing both local and international standing through innovative media practices.
The office aims to highlight the emirate's identity and values, focusing on family and community aspects. It seeks to promote transparency by building trust with the community through effective communication channels. Additionally, it aims to facilitate media expertise exchange at regional and international forums.
The decree details various powers granted to the office to achieve its objectives. These include establishing policies for media practices within affiliated institutions and overseeing their mandates and activities. The office is also tasked with designing media training programmes and ensuring their successful implementation.
Strategic plans, crisis management strategies, regulations, and systems are developed by the office to improve media performance within Council institutions. Promoting activities of H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi is another key responsibility, along with creating a comprehensive media archive documenting her journey.
Strategic Partnerships
The office engages in regular research practices and benchmarking visits to similar organisations locally and internationally. It aims to forge strategic partnerships and global collaborations that enhance media impact across various institutions.
Managing institutional reputation is crucial for fostering public trust. The office monitors local opinions while designing long-term initiatives rooted in societal values. It also finalises contracts, agreements, memoranda of understanding, and partnerships with relevant entities.
Community Engagement
The office builds public trust by managing community engagement through two-way communications with the public. It assesses awareness using opinion polling channels and compiles performance reports reflecting media progress within Council institutions.
Surveys are conducted regularly to collect, classify, document media information, and track all publications related to Council institutions. The office organises specialised seminars, conferences, and participates in relevant events inside and outside the emirate.
Awards and Accreditations
The decree encourages seeking nomination opportunities for international awards in media and government communication fields. It strives for top positions in these arenas while meeting requirements for official accreditations that bolster its supervisory role over communication practices.
The office seeks assistance from pertinent authorities within the emirate for administrative support while consulting experts on matters related to its work. Additional duties may be assigned by the Chairperson as needed.
Legal provisions within the decree address financial resources, fee exemptions, transitional provisions, regulatory decisions, enforcement measures, and publication requirements.
