MBZUAI Invites Applications For 2025 Executive Programme To Enhance AI Leadership Skills
The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) is now accepting applications for the sixth edition of its Executive Programme (MEP). This 16-week, in-person course is designed to equip senior leaders from business and government sectors in the UAE with the skills needed to drive AI transformation within their organisations. Interested candidates have until Sunday, 16th March 2025, to apply online.
Participants in the MEP come from diverse fields such as government, energy, finance, law, transport and logistics, health, sports, and education. The programme aims to prepare these leaders to apply and implement cutting-edge AI principles through instruction from MBZUAI’s esteemed faculty. The ideal candidate typically possesses over a decade of executive or leadership experience and a vision for AI-driven transformation in their field.

The MEP curriculum covers various modules focusing on AI fundamentals, industry changes driven by AI, and strategic policymaking and ethics related to AI. These modules aim to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and skills in AI. The programme concludes with capstone projects where students collaborate in teams to develop practical solutions addressing real-world challenges using their acquired AI expertise.
Sultan Al Hajji, Vice President of Public Affairs and Alumni Relations at MBZUAI, stated that "MEP has become a key pillar of MBZUAI’s mission to deliver the skills needed to drive transformation in the UAE in line with the aims of the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence and the recently announced Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027, which seeks to position Abu Dhabi as a global leader in AI-powered governance."
Since its inception in 2021, MEP has produced over 200 distinguished alumni. These include government ministers, undersecretaries, ambassadors, CEOs, and directors-general who have become advocates for AI innovation both within the UAE and internationally. The programme fosters a global network of executives committed to responsibly advancing AI technologies.
The MEP is instrumental in supporting MBZUAI's mission by aligning with national strategies aimed at positioning Abu Dhabi as a leader in AI governance. It empowers leaders with essential skills for implementing transformative changes through artificial intelligence.
