MBRSC Celebrates 18 Years Of Space Exploration Leadership At Museum Of The Future

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) marked its 18th year of establishment with a significant celebration at the Museum of the Future, attended by the Centre's employees, leadership, engineers, and astronauts. The gala was not just a commemoration but a reflection of the Centre's journey since its inception in 2006 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The event underscored the UAE's ascent in the global space exploration arena, attributing its success to the collective efforts of the MBRSC team and the unwavering support from the nation's leaders.

Salem Humaid AlMarri, Director-General of MBRSC, in his opening address, lauded the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for establishing the Centre and acknowledged the pivotal role played by the team in propelling the UAE into a leadership position in space exploration. The ceremony also featured an address by astronaut Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and included a competition for the Centre’s team with awards for winners.

MBRSC Marks 18th Year with Gala Event

In a gesture of appreciation, the Centre's management honoured teams behind significant projects such as Zayed Ambition 2 mission, PHI-Demo satellite, Emirates Lunar Mission, and SpaceOps 2023. Additionally, employees who have dedicated over a decade to the Centre and distinguished individuals from various departments received commemorative shields from Salem Humaid AlMarri.

AlMarri reflected on the Centre's journey, emphasizing the initial mission to empower youth and develop leaders across various sectors. He highlighted that these efforts have culminated in numerous success stories, showcasing the team's spirit and capability. With a firm belief in their people, AlMarri reaffirmed MBRSC's commitment to advancing projects and missions that will maintain the UAE's leading status in global space endeavors.

The celebration not only served as an acknowledgment of past achievements but also as a reaffirmation of MBRSC's dedication to future aspirations in space exploration.
