MBRGI And Silal Collaborate On Food Innovation Hub UAE’s Access Programme Through MoU

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and Silal, a food and technology company based in Abu Dhabi, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement is part of the Food Innovation Hub UAE's Access Programme. The signing occurred during the first Global Food Security Summit, which was held as part of the Global Food Week in Abu Dhabi.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation between MBRGI and Silal to support the Food Innovation Hub UAE. This initiative, launched with the World Economic Forum during COP28, focuses on promoting sustainable practices in the food industry. By establishing this hub, MBRGI seeks to improve global food security and develop sustainable solutions to combat hunger.

MBRGI and Silal Partner for Food Innovation Hub

Dr. Fuzan Al Khalidi, Director of Programmes and Initiatives at MBRGI, and Salmeen Alameri, CEO of Silal, signed the MoU. Amnah bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, was present at the signing. Dr. Fuzan Al Khalidi stated that this partnership is crucial for advancing the Hub’s plans by connecting it with national talent dedicated to food sustainability.

The Access Programme is designed to empower innovators in food and agriculture by providing essential resources. These include funding, guidance, technological support, and networking opportunities. The programme aligns with the strategic objectives of the Food Innovation Hub UAE to support nutritional needs and transform future food innovation.

Salmeen Alameri expressed enthusiasm about Silal's collaboration with the Food Innovation Hub UAE. He highlighted their shared commitment to advancing agri-food innovation through Silal's Innovation Oasis. This platform aims to foster advanced solutions for addressing unique challenges in UAE agriculture.

Silal's Role in Leadership Council

Under this MoU, Silal will join the Leadership Council of the Food Innovation Hub UAE. This collaboration provides access to Silal's Innovation Oasis resources, including space for showcasing promotional and media materials related to the hub's initiatives. This partnership is expected to breathe new life into the hub's work while aligning with its strategic goals.
