MBRGI Expands Hamdan bin Rashid Cancer Hospital

The agreement was signed by Saeed Al Eter, Assistant Secretary-General of MBRGI Foundation, Abdul Rahim Al Zarooni, and Dr. Amer Al Zarooni, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation. This health endowment will be invested to achieve the hospital’s objectives. A key goal is transforming healthcare delivery by shifting from traditional inpatient care to an integrated outpatient model.

This new approach will connect primary care with early diagnosis and treatment while supporting research and clinical trials. It aims to intervene during early stages of disease for better outcomes. The hospital will offer comprehensive services from diagnosis to long-term care, with some services available at patients’ homes for continuity.

The Hamdan bin Rashid Cancer Hospital spans 56,000 square metres and honours Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s legacy of giving. It will feature 50 clinics, 30 clinical research areas, 60 infusion rooms, 10 emergency rooms, five radiotherapy rooms, and 116 beds. Additionally, there are 19 gardens throughout the facility.

Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, Board Member of Dubai Healthcare City and Chairperson of Al Jalila Foundation, noted that the endowment is crucial for completing the hospital's construction. It will also help equip it with state-of-the-art medical technologies necessary for providing essential care to patients.

Commitment to Humanitarian Goals

Abdul Rahim Al Zarooni expressed pride in contributing to a hospital that supports patients in need. He stated that this initiative reflects a strong commitment to supporting MBRGI’s humanitarian goals alongside those of Al Jalila Foundation. The collaboration aims to enhance healthcare services for those who require them most.

The establishment of this health endowment marks a significant step towards improving healthcare delivery in Dubai. By integrating advanced technologies and expertise into the Hamdan bin Rashid Cancer Hospital’s operations, it seeks to provide comprehensive care while fostering innovation in medical practices.
