MBRGCEC Expands Bread For All Initiative With Smart Meal Distribution Devices
The Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC), part of the Endowment and Minors’ Trust Foundation in Dubai, has introduced a new phase of the "Bread for All" initiative. This phase now offers hot meals to labour communities using smart devices available 24/7. The initiative aims to enhance endowments' impact on community support through innovative solutions.
Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of Awqaf Dubai, stated that "Bread for All" reflects Dubai’s humanitarian mission to assist low-income groups. It also promotes innovative endowment models that benefit the public through modern methods. He added that this phase continues the journey of giving in a more advanced and sustainable way, focusing on expanding beneficiaries and fostering social responsibility.

The newly introduced devices boast an advanced design with user-friendly digital screens. They include refrigeration systems to keep food fresh and smart indicators to monitor device status, fill levels, and maintenance needs. A smart ID system ensures fair distribution by allowing beneficiaries one meal per day.
Zainab Juma Al Tamimi, Director of MBRGCEC, highlighted that the new phase follows the success of its first year in 2022. Thousands of hot loaves were distributed daily through safe, easy-to-use devices. The technology has been upgraded to be more intelligent, with remote-control capabilities ensuring operational efficiency and uninterrupted service.
The initiative has seen significant engagement from donors and the broader community since its launch in 2022. Devices have been installed near many mosques in Dubai, with plans for gradual expansion by adding more units based on the needs of eligible segments.
The "Bread for All" initiative was launched at Aswaaq centres in 2022 to introduce an endowment-based model providing food for labour segments while preserving their dignity. The initiative encourages individuals and companies to support it through donations, device sponsorships, or meal provisions.
Awqaf’s Secretary-General emphasised that this initiative strengthens solidarity and giving values while consolidating endowments' role in community development. The new phase aims to distribute a variety of meals to eligible groups efficiently.
This ongoing effort underscores MBRGCEC's commitment to enhancing endowments' role in supporting communities through innovative solutions. By leveraging technology and community involvement, "Bread for All" continues its mission to provide essential support where it's needed most.
