MBRF Launches Knowledge Lounge Initiative In Canada To Enhance Global Arabic Language Promotion

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) has introduced its Knowledge Lounge initiative in Canada. This effort is part of its global mission to promote Arabic reading and sustainable knowledge development. The initiative seeks to encourage analytical and critical thinking among diverse communities.

The first session took place in Toronto, in collaboration with the Mosaic Foundation. It featured Hussein Darwish from the Dubai International Program for Writing and Hind Zareef, Director of the Mosaic Foundation. Darwish highlighted that the initiative provides a platform for dialogue among readers, authors, and experts, emphasizing that knowledge is crucial for shaping individuals and societies.

Zareef commended the partnership as an essential step in promoting Arabic on a global scale. This collaboration aims to enhance cultural connections and intellectual engagement worldwide. The launch in Canada follows earlier expansions to Sydney and Melbourne in March 2025, supported by the Federal Youth Foundation of the UAE and the Global Youth Council in Australia.

Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, stated that this expansion aligns with the Foundation’s objective to connect Arab readers globally. It also aims to strengthen Arabic's presence in international discussions. He noted that the initiative supports knowledge sustainability while fostering creative, knowledge-based societies.

Throughout July, various sessions are being held across the UAE under the Knowledge Lounge banner. These include workshops at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library in Dubai, literary discussions in cities like Abu Dhabi, Khor Fakkan, Al Ain, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah. Additionally, youth-focused sessions are organized with Al-Naqsh platform and the Dubai International Program for Writing.

Exploring Digital Transformation

In partnership with the Digital Knowledge Center, sessions will delve into topics such as digital transformation and cosmology. An international session in Australia will discuss Adel Al Shamry's book "Soft Power: Volunteer Work and Humanitarian Giving Following Zayed’s Footsteps." This event underscores the initiative's commitment to uniting communities through reading and fostering meaningful cultural exchange.

The Knowledge Lounge continues its global reach by bringing together communities through reading initiatives. It aims to foster cultural exchange and promote intellectual growth across different regions.
