Mawhiba Launches Spring Forum To Equip Saudi Students For International Science Olympiads
The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), alongside the Ministry of Education, has initiated the Spring Training Forum 2025 in Riyadh. Scheduled from April 10 to 18, this event will gather 230 students from 19 educational administrations across Saudi Arabia's public schools. The forum is a key part of Saudi Arabia's strategy to prepare students for international science competitions.
The forum aims to enhance students' skills and prepare them scientifically for global representation. Experts have crafted advanced materials in various scientific fields to support this goal. Over eight days, participants will engage in 52 hours of training, completing curricula specific to their specializations. This initiative is crucial for developing future leaders in science.

A diverse group of students will participate, including 42 in mathematics, 51 in informatics, 34 in chemistry, 24 in physics, and 39 each in biology and general science. This event represents the second stage of the Mawhiba Program for International Olympiads. Students who excelled in the Winter Training Forum will now receive more intensive training.
Pathway to International Competitions
The forum also serves as initial training for intermediate-level winners of the Bebras Mawhiba Informatics Competition held at the end of 2024. The results from this forum will determine nominations for international competitions in 2025. This structured approach ensures that only the most prepared students represent Saudi Arabia on global platforms.
Last year, Saudi teams achieved remarkable success at international science Olympiads, earning 119 awards across 25 events, including the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). These achievements have brought Saudi Arabia's total awards in such competitions to an impressive 854. This success underscores the high calibre of talent within the Kingdom and highlights Mawhiba’s significant role in nurturing these gifted individuals.
The Spring Training Forum not only prepares students for upcoming challenges but also builds on past successes. By investing in education and skill development, Saudi Arabia continues to strengthen its presence on the international stage through its talented youth.
