Mawhiba Concludes Arab Gifted Students Program With International Attendance

The third annual Arab gifted students’ participation in the 2024 summer enrichment programs concluded today. Organised by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), the event saw attendance from notable figures including Mawhiba chairman Suleiman Al-Zaben, secretary-general Dr. Amal Al-Hazzaa, Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Saad Al-Harbi, and members of the Arab diplomatic corps accredited to Saudi Arabia.

This year, 431 male and female students from 16 Arab countries participated in Mawhiba programs. The countries represented were Jordan, UAE, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, and Yemen. These students engaged in intensive scientific and enrichment courses covering engineering; medical, biological, and chemical sciences; physics; earth and space sciences; computer science; and applied mathematics.

Mawhiba's Global Student Program Ends

The initiative by Mawhiba aims to invest in young talents across the Arab world. In partnership with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), it seeks to nurture gifted individuals by providing them with a conducive environment to develop their unique abilities. This initiative is designed to help these individuals lead change and shape the future.

Local and international experts in gifted education conducted the programs. They provided students with numerous scientific skills and advanced experiences to enhance their personal abilities. The comprehensive learning experience included both theoretical knowledge and practical applications.

Mawhiba secretary-general Dr. Amal Al-Hazzaa highlighted that this initiative supports long-term visions for discovering and nurturing gifted individuals in the Arab world. She stated that it aims to address scientific, technological, and knowledge-based challenges while fostering foundational integration within the Arab environment.

Building Future Leaders

Dr. Al-Hazzaa also noted that the program contributes significantly to building future leaders from among promising young Arab talents. "This unique initiative supports long-term visions for discovering and nurturing gifted individuals in the Arab world," she said.

The event underscored Mawhiba's commitment to enhancing responsibility towards scientific advancements and knowledge-based requirements. It also emphasized the importance of creating a supportive environment for young talents to thrive.

The conclusion of this year's summer enrichment programs marks another step forward in Mawhiba's mission to cultivate a new generation of leaders equipped with advanced scientific knowledge and skills.
