Math Festival In Makkah Attracts Large Crowds With Interactive Activities And Workshops

The Mathematics: The Language of Science Festival, hosted by the King Salman Science Oasis in Makkah, has drawn significant attention since its commencement. This event, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Education in Makkah Region and Umm Al-Qura University, will continue until November 30. It underscores mathematics' pivotal role in contemporary science and its applications across technology, engineering, and artificial intelligence.

The festival aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives, aiming to cultivate a generation skilled in critical thinking and problem-solving. It offers a variety of interactive and educational activities suitable for all ages. Among the highlights are digital car races that demonstrate speed and acceleration concepts, augmented reality experiences, and a balance challenge using the ICAROS device, which merges physics principles with physical fitness.

Specialized workshops are available for students, teachers, and professionals in science and engineering fields. These sessions cover topics like designing educational telescopes and exploring linear algebra's applications and algorithms in AI. A dedicated pavilion honours Saudi scientist Professor Ali Al-Daffa, celebrated as the "King of Integration."
