MATARAT Holding Awarded For Outstanding Crisis Communication At SGCA 2024

MATARAT Holding, through its marketing and corporate communication sector, received the "Best Crisis Communication Strategy" award at the 11th Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA) 2024. The event was held at Expo Centre Sharjah. MATARAT Holding's entry, titled "The Impact of Global Cyber Outage on Saudi Airports," showcased its crisis management strategy during a global cyber outage affecting numerous airports and companies.

The submission highlighted the creativity and innovation of the communication strategy. It focused on how the strategy met public needs and expectations during the crisis. The submission also showed how the strategy achieved its goals and delivered sustainable results. "Receiving the award reflects significant progress in Saudi Arabia's corporate communication, positioning it as a leader locally, regionally, and internationally," said Ahmad Almusained, vice president of marketing and corporate communication at MATARAT Holding.

Almusained added that winning this award acknowledges efforts to enhance Saudi Arabia's transportation and aviation sectors. He noted that it reflects collaboration between GACA (General Authority on Civil Aviation), MATARAT Holding, its subsidiaries, carriers, and other entities to mitigate crisis impacts. "There is no doubt that the Sharjah Government Communication Award 2024 is a great recognition," he stated.

The SGCA is a notable regional achievement and a globally significant recognition of excellence in government communication. It honours outstanding initiatives, campaigns, practices, and strategies with lasting impacts. By selecting winners, the award highlights inspirational examples of enhancing communication between institutions and society.

MATARAT Holding oversees 27 airports in Saudi Arabia through subsidiaries like Riyadh Airports, Jeddah Airports, Dammam Airports, and Cluster 2. This supervision aims to develop the country's airports and improve their performance to match current developments. This aligns with the Saudi Aviation Strategy under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.

"Winning this award recognizes ongoing efforts to enhance transportation and aviation sectors in Saudi Arabia," Almusained said. He emphasized that it reflects collaboration between various entities to implement MATARAT Holding's crisis management strategy effectively.
