President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met a delegation from Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, marking the company’s 20th anniversary and the completion of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026, which the UAE positions as a major global platform for discussions on sustainable development and climate action.
During the meeting, His Highness congratulated Masdar’s representatives on reaching the 20-year milestone and acknowledged the company’s contribution to this year’s Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026. His Highness noted that the event’s success reflects the UAE’s wider commitment to international cooperation on sustainability, as well as to strategies that support long-term, low-carbon economic growth.
Masdar’s delegation briefed His Highness on the company’s expansion over two decades, highlighting a global renewable energy portfolio that now spans more than 45 countries. They underlined how these projects support the transformation of the energy sector, strengthen clean power capacity, and reinforce Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 as an anchor platform for discussing practical solutions to environmental and development challenges.
His Highness praised Masdar’s central role in promoting global cooperation and advancing sustainable development, stressing the company’s importance within the UAE’s broader sustainability agenda. He also recognised Masdar’s efforts to back international climate action and address development issues in a way that benefits all communities, aligning these efforts with the objectives showcased during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026.
The delegation expressed appreciation to His Highness for continued support for Emirati professionals across sectors and for championing national initiatives such as Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026. They noted that the platform has become vital for accelerating global sustainable development, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and experts through forums, dialogues, and collaborative initiatives focused on inclusive social, economic, and environmental progress.
Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026, hosted each year by Masdar, was described as the largest edition so far, featuring the Zayed Sustainability Prize established by His Highness the UAE President to honour pioneering sustainability solutions, alongside many specialised events.
