Marco Penge Wins Closing Swing Title On DP World Tour After Victory In Denmark
Marco Penge, an English golfer, has emerged victorious at the Made in Denmark Championship, securing the Closing Swing title on the DP World Tour. This triumph propels him to second place in the Race to Dubai standings. Earlier this year, he also won the Hainan Championship in China, marking his second victory of the season.
The Closing Swing consists of six tournaments held across different locations: two each in Scotland and the United States, and one each in Northern Ireland and Denmark. Penge accumulated 1,051 points throughout these events. His win not only earned him the title but also an additional $200,000 in prize money.

Penge's recent success has secured his spot in the "Back 9" series. This series features nine of the season's most competitive tournaments over two months. These events lead up to the "DP World Tour Play-Offs" in the UAE, with consecutive tournaments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai determining the overall "Race to Dubai" champion.
In Denmark, Penge finished 16 under par after a close contest with Danish golfer Rasmus Højgaard, who ended at 15 under par. Højgaard gained 389 points from this event, moving up to 37th place in the Race to Dubai rankings with a total of 790 points. This improves his chances of qualifying for the Finals, which include the top 70 players.
This season, under the Race to Dubai banner, the DP World Tour spans at least 42 tournaments across 26 countries on multiple continents. Players aim for a top-70 finish in these rankings to qualify for the Finals. The Finals begin with the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links from November 6th to 9th.
The top 50 players from these rankings will then proceed to compete at the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 13th to 16th. Here, they will vie for the honour of being crowned as this season's champion.
