Mansour Bin Zayed Celebrates GovTech Prize And Global Best M-Gov Award Winners At WGS 2025
In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan honoured winners at the World Governments Summit 2025. The event, held in Dubai from 11 to 13 February, gathered global leaders to discuss future governance. The GovTech Prize and Global Best M-Gov Award were presented during this prestigious gathering.
The Summit attracted notable attendees including H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; and other distinguished figures. This annual event serves as a platform for decision-makers and industry leaders to exchange ideas on governance innovations.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour highlighted the importance of technological innovation in shaping a better future. He stated: "The World Governments Summit serves as a global platform that nurtures and accelerates innovation. Through its specialised awards, it recognises outstanding achievements in leveraging technology to empower societies and enhance governments' readiness for the future."
The Gold Prize was awarded to ExoHeal from Constructor University, Germany. This AI-driven rehabilitation system aids stroke survivors with a robotic glove and machine learning algorithms. It speeds up therapy by 50% while offering personalised treatment plans and gamified exercises for patient engagement.
TERA from Ecole Polytechnique de Thies, Senegal received the Silver Prize for addressing agricultural losses through efficient storage solutions. The platform connects farmers with consumers using solar-powered storage and a digital marketplace for produce distribution.
AccessWay from Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, India won the Bronze Prize. This app uses AI navigation and AR guidance to assist people with mobility challenges. It promotes economic inclusion by encouraging businesses to adopt accessibility-friendly infrastructure.
Excellence in Government Services
The GovTech Prize celebrated excellence in government services worldwide. VICA 2.0 from GovTech Singapore won Best Use of Generative AI in Government Services for its AI-powered virtual assistant used by over 60 agencies. In 2024, it processed over one million citizen queries.
Brazil's Citizen Service Counter Program was recognised as Best Human-Centric Government Service. Launched in March 2024, it enhances digital inclusion by providing government assistance, internet access, and digital skills training to underserved populations.
Finland's Suomi.fi portal was awarded Best Government Service in the World. Used by 95% of Finnish adults, it facilitated over 200 million e-identifications in 2024 alone, showcasing secure digital governance.
Fostering Future-Ready Governance
The Emirates Government Service Excellence Program (EGSEP) oversees the GovTech Prize under the UAE’s Ministry of Cabinet Affairs. It aims to drive innovation by engaging students, researchers, startups, private sector leaders, and government institutions in developing solutions for societal challenges.
Marking its tenth edition, this year’s GovTech Prize recognised both government-led initiatives and student-led innovations through two distinct awards: GovTech Prize and Global Best M-Gov Award. These awards aim to foster a future-ready GovTech ecosystem.
The Global Best M-Gov Award focused on university-led projects that leverage technology for global impact. All nominations underwent rigorous evaluation based on innovation, scalability, sustainability, impact, and alignment with societal needs.
As an international platform promoting forward-thinking governance and public sector excellence through diverse global awards like Best Minister in the World Award or Innovative Government Solutions Award among others; The World Governments Summit continues setting new standards globally while celebrating tangible benefits delivered through innovative solutions enhancing public service efficiency worldwide.
