Mansoor Bin Mohammed Praises UAE Athletes For Historic Success At The 3rd Asian Youth Games

The UAE's success in sports is driven by leadership support and athlete determination, according to H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee. He highlighted the nation's achievements at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, where 5,000 athletes from 45 countries competed.

Sheikh Mansoor praised the UAE contingent's performance, which included 152 athletes who secured 31 medals and set new records. The UAE emerged as the top Arab nation in the medal tally, ranking eighth overall. He emphasised that each medal reflects dedication and national pride, attributing success to commitment and a sense of duty.

The UAE contingent excelled across various sports, including athletics, camel racing, Muay Thai, and swimming. Notably, they achieved a gold medal in the 50-metre butterfly with the fastest timing in the Games' history. Sheikh Mansoor also commended the jiu-jitsu team's multi-medal success and podium finishes in equestrian, combat sports, e-sports, and badminton.

Sheikh Mansoor expressed pride in the athletes' achievements and highlighted their record-breaking performances. He noted that these accomplishments are not coincidental but result from hard work and a deep sense of national pride. The UAE flag will continue to fly high as long as this spirit of excellence endures.

The spirit of commitment and teamwork was evident among all members of the UAE contingent. They stood united in supporting each other throughout the Games. Sheikh Mansoor also acknowledged the crucial role played by the UAE diplomatic mission in Bahrain for their ongoing support and assistance to all participating teams.

The UAE's participation included 107 men and 45 women competing across 19 disciplines: handball, basketball (3×3), equestrian (show jumping and endurance), athletics, swimming, road cycling, boxing, Muay Thai, e-sports, weightlifting, triathlon, taekwondo, table tennis, camel racing, badminton, golf, judo, jiu-jitsu, and mixed martial arts (MMA).

Sheikh Mansoor reiterated that behind every record lies an inspiring story of dedication. The nation's sporting achievements are a testament to its athletes' commitment to excellence. This unwavering dedication ensures that the UAE continues to shine on both regional and international stages.
