Saudi Anime 'Asateer – Future's Folktales' Inspires New Global Game Release

Manga Productions, a subsidiary of the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk), has launched the game "Asateer – Future's Folktales" in collaboration with STC Play. This partnership aims to release the game across the Middle East and North Africa, while Manga Productions will handle its global distribution. The game is available on the App Store, Google Play Store, and App Gallery.

The development of "Asateer – Future's Folktales" involved talented Saudis and drew inspiration from the Saudi anime series "Future's Folktales." The storyline is based on tales from the Arabian Peninsula and features numerous characters across five unique worlds, including "Futuristic Riyadh." The game supports Arabic, English, and Japanese languages.

Players can enjoy daily challenges and engaging conversations with characters in a fun and accessible style. This approach has led to significant interest during the beta launch stage, with over 278,000 downloads worldwide.

Dr. Essam Bukhari, CEO of Manga Productions, highlighted the success of the anime series that inspired the game. He stated: "After the series' great success, in which views for the first season exceeded the 100 million mark and was shown on more than 40 platforms around the world, special merchandise for the series was launched, with NEOM sponsoring the second season."

Partnership with STC Play

Bader Al-Marshood, Head of STC Play team, expressed enthusiasm about their collaboration with Manga Productions. He explained that this partnership would help produce rich video game content that enhances user experiences and meets gamers' needs.
