Maldives President Muizzu Praises Makkah Route Initiative As A Testament To Saudi Leadership In Serving Islam
The Republic of Maldives has joined the Makkah Route Initiative, a project designed to assist pilgrims. This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 Pilgrim Experience Program. It allows Maldivian pilgrims to complete passport, customs, and health checks at Velana International Airport. This ensures they arrive in Saudi Arabia ready to proceed directly to their accommodations with ease and dignity. President Muizzu highlighted that this is the first time Maldivian pilgrims will benefit from such a pioneering service.

President Muizzu emphasized the strong ties between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, noting that this collaboration reflects the Kingdom's commitment to serving Islam with "the highest levels of skill, insight, and care."
