Maktoum Bin Mohammed Engages With KKR EMEA Co-Head On Strategic Financial Partnerships
H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, recently met with Tara Davies. She is a Partner and Co-Head of KKR for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) as well as Co-Head of European Infrastructure. The meeting took place at H.H. Sheikh Maktoum's office.
During the discussion, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum highlighted the UAE's dedication to forming strategic alliances with international financial firms. He emphasised the country's supportive infrastructure, business-friendly services, and growth-oriented regulatory frameworks that help these firms succeed.
The UAE's outstanding industry ecosystem positions it as an ideal hub for global financial companies aiming to seize high-growth opportunities. It also serves as a gateway for expanding their presence in the wider region. H.H. Sheikh Maktoum noted this advantage during the meeting.
Dubai aims to collaborate with leading global financial firms as part of its commitment to public-private partnerships. This collaboration is crucial for achieving the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 goal of making the city one of the world's top four financial hubs by 2033.
The meeting was attended by several notable figures including Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Finance; Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports; Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; and Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director-General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR), a leading private equity and investment firm globally, has been operating from its office in the Dubai International Financial Centre since 2009. The firm manages assets worth US$624 billion across various asset classes worldwide as of 30th September 2024.
H.H. Sheikh Maktoum reiterated that Dubai's ethos strongly supports public-private partnerships. This approach aligns with its vision to foster collaboration with top-tier global financial companies to realise ambitious economic goals.
