Makkah Route Initiative: A Leap Towards Enhanced Pilgrim Tranquility

The Makkah Route Initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Interior, is a significant project aimed at enhancing the pilgrimage experience for visitors to the Two Holy Mosques. Covering seven countries, the initiative offers pilgrims advanced technical and logistical support, ensuring their security and comfort.

Under this initiative, pilgrims receive high-quality services, with entry procedures streamlined from their home countries. They are transported directly to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah. This approach has successfully reduced the time spent at entry points into the Kingdom, showcasing the Saudi government's dedication to a seamless pilgrimage experience.

Enhancing Pilgrim Tranquility

This year, the Makkah Route Initiative has benefited pilgrims from Morocco, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Türkiye, and Côte d'Ivoire. Special lounges have been set up for pilgrims at airports in these countries, further facilitating their journey.

The initiative has received international recognition. The Turkish ambassador to the Kingdom, Dr. Emrullah Isler, praised the personnel's efforts at Turkish airports in Ankara and Istanbul. The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) documented pilgrims' experiences at Istanbul International Airport.

Amina Turk, a pilgrim traveling with her husband, expressed her excitement: "I wished to perform Hajj at the Grand Mosque, and I ask Allah to give us the ability to complete it. We are very excited because it is our first visit, and I ask Allah accepts our deed."

The initiative is a collaborative effort involving various government agencies. These include the ministries of interior, foreign affairs, health, Hajj and Umrah, and media; the General Authority of Civil Aviation; Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence; the pilgrim experience program under Vision 2030; and the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority.
