Makkah Region Readies Transport And Logistics For Hajj Season 1445AH
The Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, chaired a meeting in Jeddah today. The meeting included Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser and other officials. The primary focus was to review the readiness of the transport and logistics system for this year's Hajj season, 1445 AH.
The system has allocated over 7,700 air flights and has received around 6,000 pilgrims through Jeddah Islamic Port. It aims to facilitate the movement of pilgrims from their arrival in Saudi Arabia until they safely return home. The meeting also discussed the transport system's role among enabling entities and its contribution to serving the pilgrims.

The readiness plan includes assigning 47,000 personnel to prepare six airports to receive pilgrims. Four national carriers will support the transport of pilgrims. Specialized halls for beneficiaries of the Makkah Route Initiative and those arriving from seven countries have been prepared. The system will provide 150 aircraft and 5,000 air flights with a one million-seat capacity for pilgrim transport.
Additionally, new initiatives and services for the Hajj season have been introduced. The Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services highlighted maintenance work on roads serving the pilgrims and improvements to roads leading to Makkah from land ports.
New road projects have been completed to facilitate pilgrim movement. This includes a 50 km section of the Jeddah-Makkah direct road, which aims to shorten travel time between King Abdulaziz International Airport and Makkah.
Saudi Post Services
Saudi Post (SPL) is providing various services to pilgrims during the current season. These services include commercial publishers, official mail, and pilgrims' parcel service's Hajj without a bag. Bonds for the purchase of gifts and sacrifices are also available.
The meeting underscored the importance of these measures in ensuring a smooth and efficient Hajj season for all pilgrims.
